We provide all of the following:
- initial training and certification through our 24- or 40-hour courses.
- refreshers to renew your HAZWOPER certification with our 8 hour annual refresher course.

Initial Training
40 HOUR
Hazardous Waste WorkerThis course is designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and/or storage, disposal, treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.
This course is required for all employees working on site (such as but not limited to equipment operators, general laborers and others) exposed to hazardous substances, health hazards, or safety hazards.
Note: This course is a prerequisite to the 8-Hour Hazardous Waste Supervisor, and the 8 Hazardous Waste Worker Refresher.

24 HOUR
Emergency Response TechnicianThe 24-hour training is for those individuals who will work at contaminated sites that do not expose them to hazardous substances at or above the Permissible Exposure Limits.
There is no on-site hazardous waste training requirement like the 40-hour course.
Training shall be based on the duties and function to be performed by each responder of an emergency response organization.
Note: This course is a prerequisite to the 8-Hour On-Scene Incident Commander Program and the 8 Emergency Response

Additional Initial Training & Refreshers

The following additional courses are needed for supervisors or employees in supervisory roles upon completion of their initial training and refreshers.
8 HOUR
Hazardous Waste WorkerPrerequisite: 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Worker
This course covers at least eight additional hours of specialized training on such topics as, but not limited to:
- the employer’s safety and health program,
- personal protective equipment program,
- spill containment program,
- and health hazard monitoring procedure and techniques.

8 HOUR
On-Scene Incident CommanderPrerequisite: 24 Hour Emergency Response Technician
Incident commanders, who will assume control of the incident scene beyond the first responder awareness level, shall receive at least 24 hours of training equal to the first responder operations level.
In addition they must have competency in the following areas
- Know and be able to implement the employer’s incident command system.
- Know how to implement the employer’s emergency response plan.
- Know and understand the hazards and risks associated with employees working in chemical protective clothing.
- Know how to implement the local emergency response plan.
- Know of the state emergency response plan and of the Federal Regional Response Team.
- Know and understand the importance of decontamination procedures.

DOT Hazmat Training
The DOT HAZMAT Program only needs to be done every three years. This four-hour training program fulfills both initial and refresher training requirements.
The Department of Transportation makes training mandatory for almost anyone who handles hazardous materials.
4 HOUR
DOT Hazmat TrainingThis course needs to be completed by any employee who does any of the following, regardless of frequency or amount:
- select or fill hazardous materials packages,
- label containers,
- complete shipping papers,
- load or unload vehicles,
- transport hazardous materials,
- or operate vehicles used in the transport of hazardous materials.
